What Wine Do YOU Like?... Why Do YOU Like It? Trusting your palate is the first fundamental step to identifying your wine preferences. So often, our palates are influenced by others' opinions about "what's a good wine" or "what's not a good wine." We listen to their comments and judgments. We feel compelled to follow THEIR preferences for OUR enjoyment. Their intentions are good, and their advice may even be sound. But in reality, only YOU should judge a wine for yourself... because the definition of a good wine is a wine that YOU like... period end. To that end, Michael Conti, President & Wine Educator - From Stem To Learn, LLC, offers a fun and informative series of classes that will truly allow you to decipher what wines you like - and what wines you don't like... all through blind tastings. How does this work? Mike will pour six wines. Through guided tastings, Mike will encourage class participants to explore their senses, with the ultimate goal of pinpointing your preferences. No pre-conceived notions about the wine will be shared. No anxiety about what you should be tasting from each wines is expected. Just trust your palate and enjoy the results. "I couldn't believe the results," said a recent class participant. "I attended the blind tasting on White Wines of the World, knowing full well that I generally only drink buttery, oaky Chardonnays. Mike guided us through a tasting of six white wines and I ranked my preferences. To my surprise, a French Riesling from Alsace was number one on my list. It was delicious, but I thought I didn't like Rieslings!... not anymore. French Rieslings are now a staple in my refrigerator, and I know just where to find them in my local Wine & Spirits Shops." Come with an open mind. Concentrate on your own senses. Trust your taste buds. And most important, have fun! Great to do with groups of friends... and join Mike at the bar after class for more wine talk!
